Introducing the Focal MCP
Focal MCP gives AI tools and agents access to your full creative record — briefs, hypotheses, production history, and performance – not just isolated data points.

With Focal MCP, you can start making better creative decisions thanks to deeper creative context. Easily understand what ad creative worked, what you should build next, and pass the deeper understanding to any teammate or agent.
Every creative you work on using Focal holds its full context and history: the hypothesis behind it, the brief, the production timeline, the finished asset and its tagged elements, and soon also the performance data on the creative asset level. One connected creative record, not a collection of fragments spread across different software platforms.
With the launch of Focal's MCP, your full creative context is now accessible to any tool, agent, or AI system.
Here's what that means in practice.
The connected record is the differentiator
Why isn’t Focal MCP the same as connecting AI to individual tools in your current stack?
An MCP connected to Drive gives an AI tool access to files. A spreadsheet gives access to rows. An MCP connected to Meta Ads gives it performance numbers. Each retrieves data from its own silo.
While your LLM tools can bring these separate aspects of a creative together to some extent, what they can't give you is connections and deeper context.
What was the brief behind last quarter's top performer?
What was the hypothesis that the brief was testing?
What production decisions shaped the final asset?
How did it perform, was the original hypothesis proven or not?
Those connections that are crucial to fully understanding an ad creative were never recorded in any individual system, so existing MCPs can’t surface them. Focal's MCP gives users and AI agents access to the entire creative context: the brief, the auto-applied tags and the production timeline, not just the data points.
Performance by audience, placement and over time is already part of the connected record inside Focal, and it's the next piece landing in the MCP.
Here are a few example use cases a set disconnected creative tool MCPs can't replicate.
What you can do with Focal MCP
Pre-brief gap analysis
Before writing a new brief, ask: "What angles haven't we tested in cold audiences in the last 60 days?" or "Which audience segments have we under-served with UGC content?" Trying to answer these questions manually would take ages, but Focal MCP makes it trivial.
Brainstorm with your real creative history
Pull up every winning concept from the past 90 days. Filter by audience, format, angle or creator. Because Focal reads the actual content of each asset, on-screen text, the spoken script, scene by scene, you can search by what's in the creative, not just its filename.
You can simply ask questions in Claude:
"Which of our UGC videos mention free shipping in the voiceover?"
"Which creative angles haven't we tried in cold audiences?"
“Mother’s Day is coming up. What creative concepts did we use last year?
"Provide a summary of the hooks I've used in videos uploaded in the past 90 days"
The answers come from your real library, not a generic model output.
For teams running hundreds of creatives a month, this turns a half-day of manual research into a ten-minute conversation. Soon, this will also be supplemented by performance data on the asset level directly from Focal, so you can make decisions with even deeper context.
Brief from what actually worked
Already know which concept you want to build from? Query the brief behind it directly: what was the hypothesis, what format, angle and audience combination was called, what did the production approach involve?
This way, you're starting from a full account of what your team decided and made, with the brief and production connections intact. Once performance joins the record, this becomes brief-from-what-actually-worked without having to name the concept yourself first.
Kick off production straight from the brief
Once the brief is set, Claude can open the production row itself: create it, assign it, and set the status that gets your editor or agency moving. The card exists before anyone has opened the board or typed a status update.
Get a production progress report with a prompt
"What's stalling? What's in review? What's approved and ready to launch?" These questions normally mean checking status cards across a project board, pinging producers, and assembling a picture in your head before a stand-up or handoff.
With Focal MCP you can ask once and get the answer across all related tasks, even across different boards. There’s no more need for a manual status chase across tools.
Run an automated sprint retrospective
Create a summary of the last sprint: how many concepts went live, which formats, which hooks, what performed above our ROAS threshold, and what should we kill or iterate?" Reporting on these questions typically takes at least half a day and building a slide deck. With Focal MCP it's a two-minute chat.
A connected creative record for better decision making
"What went live this week? What's performing best? What should we brief next sprint?"
Soon, Focal's MCP will directly connect ad performance data to the creative context it came from. Performance numbers will tie back to the concepts behind them, so you can better understand what worked, what the brief behind it said, what it took to produce, and what should be in the next brief.
The human still decides what to do with the information, but you’ll no longer need to pull things from separate systems (or from people’s heads), and can use this full creative context for better decision making and as information for your other AI agents.
Build a creative moat with deeper context
Every creative added to Focal makes the record richer. Every sprint run through the platform adds to what the MCP can surface.
A team 12 months into Focal will have a fundamentally different foundation for briefing, testing and analysis than a team without this kind of creative context, because the history runs deeper and the connections between brief, production and performance are fully accessible. The AI tools they use don't get smarter on their own, but give better results when the context they have access to improves.
