Set the rule once per folder. Every creative uploaded or moved into it gets renamed automatically, so your filters and reports stop breaking.
One wrong file name and your reporting falls apart
Naming takes a really long time. Someone has to open every file, check the format, aspect ratio and concept, then type it all out in the right order. Skip a field or swap a delimiter and the creative disappears from filters and stops lining up in your reports. With Focal, you set the rule once and every file follows it.
Naming conventions
Automatic naming conventions for every upload
A naming convention in Focal is a rule you attach to a folder. Build it from file properties like aspect ratio, duration and upload date, your own attributes such as hook or format, custom text and counters. Focal renames every creative in the folder to match, including files already there, and names every new one the same way.

Creative IDs
Concept and variant IDs, generated for you
Add a Creative ID and every concept gets a unique ID built from your own prefix, a date and a counter, like ABC-2409-0001. Assets added to the same board task share the concept ID and each gets its own variant number, so every cut and size of a winner traces back to the original idea.

Step 1
Build the naming rule
Pick the fields that make up the name and drag them into order. Choose a delimiter and letter case, and a live preview shows exactly what the name will look like.
Step 2
Attach it to a folder
Turn the naming convention on for a folder, and its subfolders if you want. Everything already in the folder is renamed within a few minutes.
Step 3
Upload and stop renaming
Every creative uploaded or moved into the folder is named to the rule. The same name carries through when you upload the file to Meta, TikTok or YouTube.
